After Lekhi denial, MEA clarifies on Hamas query | India News


NEW DELHI: The exterior affairs ministry on Saturday clarified {that a} technical correction will probably be made mentioning V Muraleedharan‘s title because the minister who replied to a Parliament query on the designation of Hamas.
MEA spokesperson Arindam Bagchi made the clarification hours after Union minister Meenakshi Lekhistated she didn’t approve any reply to the query.Each Lekhi and Muraleedharan are ministers of state within the MEA.
Responding to a publish on X, Lekhi on Saturday stated she didn’t approve any reply to the query and stated an “inquiry will reveal the offender”.

The query titled “Declaration of Hamas as Terrorist Organisation” was put out by Congress MP Kumbakudi Sudhakaran. Sudhakaran, who represents Kannur within the Lok Sabha, had requested whether or not the federal government has any proposal to declare Hamas a terrorist organisation and in that case, the small print thereof.
