Bhubaneswar: East Coast Railway (ECoR) have been topped champions within the maiden Hockey Affiliation of Odisha-organized Senior Males’s Hockey Championship after edging out Khurda 1-0 in a closely-contested last on Saturday.

Sakti Kujur scored a discipline aim within the fourth minute of the title conflict. That proved to be the one aim of the match.

SAIL Academy bagged the bronze medal, pipping Sundargarh 3-2 in one other tight end, within the third place play-off match.

ECoR’s Sunil Toppo was adjudged Greatest Ahead of the match, whereas Khurda’s Dilip Kumar Sa obtained the Greatest Goalkeeper award.

The Greatest Defender was Kerobin Lakra of SAIL and Greatest Midfielder Biju Ekka (Sundargarh).

Congratulating ECoR for changing into the primary champions of the senior males’s state meet, HAO president and Hockey Promotion Council chairman Dilip Tirkey hoped their victory will encourage many extra kids to take up the sport.
