Odisha BJP approaches CEO demanding action

A delegation of the Bharatiya Janata Occasion (BJP) approached the Chief Electoral Officer (CEO) of Odisha on Saturday questioning the deployment of 74 police personnel for 5T chairperson VK Pandian and focused the Odisha authorities over the difficulty.

BJP chief Surath Biswal stated, “The security of the frequent individuals is in a deplorable situation due to the scarcity of safety personnel. The safety personnel engaged for VK Pandian are taking salaries from the state coffers.”

He sought to know if these safety personnel are working for the federal government or the BJD and the way the cash spent on VK Pandian’s safety can be recovered. 

Biswal stated that the CEO has been urged to take steps for restoration of the cash spent in direction of the safety of VK Pandian. 

Notably, the Commissionerate Police whereas responding to an RTI question from activist Prakash Chandra Das revealed that two SIs (armed), 12 Havildars, and 60 constables, together with 4 girls constables, have been engaged for the safety of 5T & Nabin Odisha Chairman, VK Pandian. 

As per the RTI reply, aside from a automobile supplied by the Residence Division, a private safety officer has additionally been appointed for Pandian. 

Odisha Soochana Adhikar Abhiyan (OSAA) convenor, Prakash Das alleged that on common Rs 3 crore per 12 months has been spent over the past 5 years. 

No response has been obtained both from VK Pandian, Odisha authorities authorities or the BJD.
