BJD announces candidates for 15 LS & 72 Assembly seats

Bhubaneswar, Mar 27 (UNI) BJD President Naveen Patnaik on Wednesday introduced the record of celebration candidates for 15 Lok Sabha and 72 Meeting seats in Odisha for the upcoming elections.

The ruling BJD is the state’s first political celebration to announce the celebration candidates’ names for Meeting seats. Odisha will maintain simultaneous Meeting and Lok Sabha election.

Odisha will go to the polls in 4 phases for its 147 Meeting and 21 Lok Sabha seats on Could 13, 20, 25 and June 1.

The principal Opposition celebration BJP within the state has already introduced the names of celebration candidates for 18 of the 21 Lok Sabha seats. It’s but to launch the names of candidates for Meeting seats.

Then again, the opposition Congress is but to announce the candidates for the Lok Sabha and Meeting seats.

The BJD fielded former Indian Hockey staff captain Dillip Tirkey for the Sundargarh Lok Sabha seat to tackle former Union minister and sitting BJP MP Juel Oram.

The celebration’s organisational secretary Pranab Prakash Das will for the primary time vie for Lok Sabha elections as he has been nominated for the Sambalpur parliamentary seat the place the BJP earlier introduced the candidature of Union Schooling Minister Dharmendra Pradhan.

The candidates of the opposite 13 Lok Sabha seats introduced by BJD supremo and Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik are Lambodar Nial (Kalahandi), Sudam Marndi (Mayurbhanj), Ansuman Mohanty (Kendrapara), Pradeep Majhi (Nabarangpur), Manmath Routray (Bhubaneswar), Kausalya Hikaka (Koraput), Ranjita Sahu (Aska), Achyut Samant (Kandhamal), Santrupt Mishra (Cuttack), Sarmistha Sethi (Jajpur), Arup Pattnaik (Puri), Abinash Samal (Dhenkanal) and Rajashree Mallick (Jagatsinghpur).

Samant and Mallick have been retained by the celebration to contest their Lok Sabha seats.

Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik will this time additionally contest from Hinjili Meeting seat, from the place he has been elected consecutively for the fifth time because the 2000 Meeting elections.
