NEW DELHI: Isis India head and an affiliate have been arrested in Assam’s Dhubri district on Wednesday after they crossed over from Bangladesh, Assam Police reported.
In keeping with Pranabjyoti Goswami, the Assam Police chief public relations officer, they have been apprehended within the Dharmasala space by the Particular Process Power (STF) following a tip-off. The suspects have been later transported to the STF workplace in Guwahati for additional proceedings.
“The id of each of them was ascertained and it’s discovered that accused Haris Farooqi, alias Harish Ajmal Farukhi of Chakrata, Dehradun, is the pinnacle of Isis in India,” he added.
His affiliate Anurag Singh, alias Rehan of Panipat, transformed to Islam, whereas his spouse is a Bangladeshi nationwide, the CPRO mentioned.
“Each of them are extremely indoctrinated and motivated leaders/members of Isis in India.
