The CM was reacting to Ajmal’s latest response to feedback by Congress’s Dhubri candidate Rakibul Hussain, who referred to him as an “outdated tiger”.Ajmal, who’s in his 70s, responded: “I’m not so outdated. I can marry once more.”
Sarma seized the chance to swipe at Ajmal, who had opposed UCC. The CM introduced on Saturday that Assam plans to introduce UCC shortly after the polls, with a possible ban on polygamy, which might lead to Ajmal’s imprisonment if he marries once more.
